Uzbekistan is strengthening its position as a safe and open tourist destination

Based on the results of 2025, Uzbekistan is demonstrating strong and dynamic growth in its tourism sector. The country was visited by nearly 12 million foreign tourists, which is 16% more compared to the previous year.

Exports of tourism services exceeded 4.8 billion US dollars, confirming the growing international interest in Uzbekistan and strengthening its position as one of the most promising tourist destinations in the region.

These results were made possible by consistent reforms in the tourism sector aimed at improving infrastructure, developing transport accessibility, digitalizing services, and creating favorable conditions for travelers. The country is actively implementing projects to develop tourism clusters, improve service quality, and expand international cooperation.

The Republic has introduced a simplified entry regime for foreign citizens. In particular, visa-free entry is currently available for citizens of 94 countries, an electronic entry visa system is available for 52 countries, and a five-day visa-free transit regime is in place for 45 countries.

Against the backdrop of current geopolitical instability in various regions of the world, including mass protests and demonstrations in certain countries, the importance of safety and comfortable conditions for tourists is increasing.

In this context, Uzbekistan maintains its status as a stable, safe, and hospitable country, open to all visitors regardless of their nationality or religion. Traditions of respect, tolerance, and sincere hospitality are an integral part of Uzbek culture.

International rankings confirm the high level of safety in Uzbekistan. In recent years, the country has consistently ranked among the leaders in global safety indices. In particular, according to the “International SOS Risk Map,” Uzbekistan is classified as a low-risk destination, placing it alongside a number of European countries in terms of overall safety.

According to the “Numbeo Safety Index,” Uzbekistan ranks 25th out of 148 countries worldwide, demonstrating a consistently low level of crime. In addition, in the “Solo Female Travel Safety Index” and the “Safety Perceptions Index,” Uzbekistan ranked 1st in the world, receiving one of the highest safety scores for solo female travel. Furthermore, according to the “Gallup Global Law and Order Index,” the country has also ranked among the global leaders in terms of public safety and trust in law enforcement.

Taken together, these assessments form a strong international image of Uzbekistan as a safe, stable, and comfortable destination for tourists.

Today, Uzbekistan offers tourists not only the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Great Silk Road, but also modern infrastructure, comfortable conditions, and an atmosphere of openness.
