As a result of the Embassy’s efforts, seven Uzbek citizens, who were initially scheduled to be sent from the U.S. to Costa Rica but expressed a desire to return to their homeland, were successfully repatriated to Uzbekistan on February 24, 2025, via the New York – Tashkent route.

The Embassy is currently continuing negotiations with the relevant U.S. authorities, as well as the embassies of Costa Rica and Panama in Washington, D.C., to safeguard the rights and interests of our citizens and facilitate their organized return to Uzbekistan.
