President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai on June 11.

The head of the American delegation conveyed the greetings and best wishes of U.S. President Joe Biden to the leader of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, topical issues of further strengthening bilateral strategic partnership relations, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation were discussed.

The intensification of business contacts and the steady growth in mutual trade turnover and investment were noted with satisfaction.

Cooperative ties are developing with leading U.S. enterprises and banks, including Air Products, Coca-Cola, Citibank, Visa, and many others.

The discussions also covered issues related to Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO, the resumption of the GSP system, and deepening practical interaction within the C5+1 format and the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement.

The importance of launching a joint platform to identify new sectors and promote industrial cooperation projects was emphasized.
