Currently, the Termez Institute of Engineering and Technology and the Termez Institute of Agrotechnologies and Innovative Development operate in Surkhandarya. Due to their consolidation, the Termez State University of Engineering and Agricultural Technologies is planned to be created.
This will allow for the introduction of an effective management system, the reduction of duplicating faculties and departments, and the optimization of individual staffing units.

The new university will create a cutting-edge engineering school. Students with high knowledge will be selected on a competitive basis and trained in special educational programs focused on practice. Industrial partners corresponding to the school’s areas will be identified, and modern laboratories will be created. Based on their proposals, research and development work will be organized.
At the presentation, instructions were given to attract specialists with foreign experience and high scientific and practical qualifications to managerial and teaching positions at the university and to evaluate the effectiveness of their work based on international standards.
