The candidate from UzLiDeP Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives 87.05% of the vote in the election

The Press Center of the Central Election Commission held a press conference on the preliminary results of the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Z. Nizomkhojayev.

It was noted that the Uzbekistan Presidential Election was held in accordance with international and national requirements. Citizens took an active part in the early election, which was held for the first time in the history of Uzbekistan and based on the norms of the renewed Constitution.

Almost 800 international observers from 15 international organizations and 47 foreign countries directly followed this political event, and 1400 local and foreign media representatives covered the election process. 15 million 651 thousand 405 voters participated in the elections, or 79.88 percent of the total voters.

The candidate from the People’s Democratic Party Ulugbek Inoyatov received 629,116 votes or 4.02 percent, the candidate from the SDP “Adolat” Robakhon Makhmudova – 693,634, or 4.43 percent, the candidate from UzLiDeP Shavkat Mirziyoyev – 13 million 625 thousand 55 votes, or 87.05 percent, and the candidate from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan Abdushukur Khamzayev – 585,711, or 3.74 percent. The number of ballots declared invalid was 0.76 percent.

According to the Election Code, a candidate who has received the votes of more than half of the voters who took part in the elections is considered elected. And in accordance with Article 97 of this Code and the results of the Presidential Election, the decision of the Central Election Commission will be made no later than 10 days after the election and published on the official website of the Central Election Commission and in other sources.
