Ambassador of Uzbekistan Furqat Sidikov, has recently held meetings with Congressman Robert Aderholt and Senator Tom Cotton.
During his meeting with Congressman Aderholt, Ambassador Sidikov emphasized the importance of fostering a strong inter-parliamentary relationship between the two countries. The discourse mainly revolved around the exploration of collaborative opportunities that can be harnessed to the benefit of both countries. An area of particular interest discussed during the meeting was the potential for cooperation in the cotton and textile industry, notably linking companies from Uzbekistan with their counterparts in Alabama.
The dialogue with Senator Tom Cotton centered on the broader spectrum of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the United States. The Ambassador was particularly pleased with Senator Cotton’s support for the Uzbekistan government’s foreign policy in Central Asia, acknowledging this as a stepping stone towards a strengthened partnership. In a noteworthy development, Senator Cotton received a heartfelt invitation from Ambassador Sidikov to participate in the Congressional Delegation (CODEL) trip to Uzbekistan.
