Meeting at the Oqsaroy on August 31 with members of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the Oqsaroy on August 31 met with Eni Faleomavaega and James Patrick Moran, members of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, who have been on visit in our country.

Greeting the guests, the head of our state expressed confidence that their stay in Uzbekistan during the Independence Day celebrations will allow them to have a better familiarity with our country, its rich culture, spiritual and historical heritage and traditions of the Uzbek people.

Participation of prominent American officials in the international conference entitled “Evolution of Parliamentarianism: Expertise of Uzbekistan and the United States” has become another indication of the expanding cooperation between our two nations.

The parties to talks noted that the enhancement of inter-parliamentary bonds is one of the important dimensions in the Uzbek-American dialogue.

The conversation has served to discuss a wide range of issues in the bilateral interaction, along with individual regional and international topics.

At the meeting, the two sides expressed a shared interest in steadfast intensification of the trade-economic and investment cooperation with the involvement of advanced American technologies.

The Congressmen sincerely congratulated Uzbekistan’s President on the 22nd anniversary of the national independence and the successful conduct of the 9th Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival in Samarkand.

Eni Faleomavaega and James Moran expressed gratefulness to the head of our state for a warm reception and an opportunity to discuss issues important for both sides. They noted the growing interest in the United States in the further expansion of bilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan across all spheres of mutual interest.
