22-YEAR-OLD DIRECTOR ANVAR MADRAIMOV FROM UZBEKISTAN HAS WON THE FIRST PRIZE AMONG YOUNG FILMMAKERS AT THE HOLLYSHORTS FILM FESTIVAL 2017 IN LOS ANGELES, USA
The childhood of the young filmmaker passed in Yunusabad district of Tashkent, Shahriston Street in particular. He studied at the high school under the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and then enrolled in the academic lyceum at the Turin Polytechnic University. After graduating from the lyceum, three years later, he continued his studies in Los Angeles, then at the New York Film Academy.
From an early age, he was engaged in painting. He was a movie fan; he watched a lot of films and always wanted to understand what the director wanted to bring to the viewer. He studied at the music school at the Conservatory in Tashkent.
Anvar has not yet made a feature film, he is on the way to this. As the director he has created many short films, several clips and advertisements. He participated in the filming of full-length and documentary films.
Hollyshorts Film Festival is designed only for short films, and it is one of the best festivals in California. This year about 4 thousand films from 65 countries took part in it. As a result, 400 movies were selected for screening in the cinema, including Anvar Madraimov’s ‘A Birthday Card.’
