The issues of ensuring peace and security in the country
On August 5, 2011 on the initiative of the Committee on the Issues of Defense and Security of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis held “round table” on “Ensuring peace and security in the country - the guarantor of development” at Djizakh regional administration. It was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Djizakh regional administration, and regional offices of the National Security Service, Internal Affairs, Customs and Tax Committees, civil defense, education, health care, as well as asset and representatives of the mass media.
During the event, reports were heard on the nature and significance of the adoption of legal acts in the sphere of defense and security, the prospects of their improvement, the role of relevant ministries, state committees and departments to ensure peace and security in Uzbekistan, as well as educating young people in a spirit of devotion to the motherland. Speakers emphasized that since the early days of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the leadership of the Head of our State consistently implemented reforms on strengthening the defense capability of the country, ensuring peace and security of our people. For the historically short period modern, well-equipped and trained armed forces able to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the peaceful life and security of citizens were created.
Participants of the “round table” discussed the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on ensuring peace and security in the region, particularly in Afghanistan. They also expressed their views on wide-ranging reforms undertaken in the country and in Djizakh region, and ways on further strengthening the stability of society.
