THE RESULTS OF SHINZO ABE’S VISIT TO UZBEKISTAN ON THE FOCUS OF JAPANESE MEDIA
The visit of the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the Republic of Uzbekistan, on 25 October this year, was on the highlights in the Japanese media.
In particular, news agency “Kyodo” reported the Uzbek-Japanese summit talks in Tashkent. A number of documents on cooperation, including financial institutions, were signed during the visit, the agency noted. Agreements were reached on the implementation of joint investment projects worth over $ 8.5 billion in spheres of energy and transport infrastructure modernization, development and processing of mineral resources, auto, oil, gas and chemical industries, telecommunications and other modern branches and manufacture.

“Shinzo Abe and Islam Karimov signed a joint statement after the negotiations, which called to the involvement of Japan in the construction of plants for the production of chemical fertilizers, buses and trucks,” - says the material.
Japan and Uzbekistan agreed to accelerate the introduction of advanced Japanese industrial technologies in the country, the web page of “The Japan Times” newspaper reported. It noted that the promotion of human exchanges between the two countries is another important point of agreement.
Uzbekistan has offered the support for the efforts of Japan on reforming the UN Security Council to become a permanent member of UNSC in a joint statement, issued after the negotiation.
