Deputies discuss national ICT sphere development
A press conference the main topics of which included prospects for the development of national information and communication system of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place in the capital. The event was organized by the Democratic Party Milliy Tiklanish in the lower house of parliament in conjunction with the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications and was attended by deputies, experts and specialists of IT-sphere, as well as journalists.
Work is being carried out within the framework of the \\\"Concepts of further deepening the democratic reforms and formation of the civil society in the country\\\" over such draft laws as \\\"On Television and Radio Broadcasting\\\", \\\"On Economic Foundations of Mass Media Activity\\\", \\\"On Guarantees of State Support of the Mass Media.\\\"
Creation of favorable conditions for systematic and gradual development of national information and communication system is one of the priorities of our country in the field of information and communication technologies. It was pointed out at the conference that over the years of independence the republic has established a legal basis for the development of the ICT sector. In particular, such laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan as \\\"On Telecommunications\\\", \\\"On Informatization\\\", \\\"On Communications\\\", \\\"On the radio spectrum\\\", \\\"On electronic document turnover\\\" and \\\"On electronic digital signature\\\" were adopted.
During the conference, the participants also discussed the organization of activities aimed at the widespread use of modern information and communication technologies in the system of state and public administration. The participants paid particular attention to the use of law enforcement practice in the information sphere.
In addition, participants made a number of current proposals on some draft laws that create conditions for further development of national Information Communication system, ensure transparency of public authorities and management through the use of modern technologies, infrastructure of existing and developing complexes of information systems and databases of the state bodies within the system of \\\"Electronic Government\\\".
