Society.....THE PRESENTATION OF UZBEKISTAN IN MAGDEBURG
In the capital of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt - city of Magdeburg hosted an information event dedicated to the implementation of the State program \"Year of attention and care for the senior generation\" in Uzbekistan, as well as the modern development of our republic. It was organized within the framework of the international cultural festival Europafest.
Participants of the event were officials of Saxony-Anhalt, Magdeburg city major\'s office, the diplomatic corps operating in Germany, friendship societies, as well as cultural and humanitarian organizations and the media of the FRG.
They were informed about the main goals and objectives of the State program \"Year of attention and care for the senior generation\", carried out in the framework of its measures to further improve the level and quality of life of older people, enhancing their material and moral support, the improvement of social, pension and health care.
The event was deployed presentation stand, telling about the rich historical and cultural heritage and modern development of Uzbekistan. It was represented by objects of folk art, examples of ceramic, textile, gold embroidery, lots of brightly illustrated books, brochures and booklets.
Uzbek pavilion visited by numerous guests, along with information about the culture and history of our people, also had the opportunity to taste dishes of Uzbek national cuisine.
Some of them shared their impressions with the correspondent of IA \"Jahon\".
Minister of State for European Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt Reiner Robra, welcoming the participation of our country in international cultural festival in Magdeburg, has expressed confidence that it will contribute to the further strengthening of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany and other European countries. He added that he is interested in the rich culture and traditions of the Uzbek people.
- It is noteworthy that for your country\'s State Program \"Year of attention and care for the senior generation\" is based on the venerable respect to the elderly, and it is an integral part of a centuries-old culture of the Uzbek people, - he said.
Appreciating the significant economic, investment and tourist potential of Saxony-Anhalt, R.Robra expressed interest in developing long-term cooperation with Uzbekistan in their region in these areas.
- Investment opportunities in your country are of great interest to us, - he continued. - Therefore, we consider the possibility of organizing a trip of representatives of business circles of Saxony-Anhalt in Uzbekistan for more detailed information on economic and investment projects.
The representative of the German non-governmental organization Verbundnetz der Wärme Roland Ilse said that he was very impressed with the participation of Uzbekistan in the intercultural festival in Magdeburg.
According to him, it gives broad German public good opportunity to get acquainted with the rich culture and traditions of Uzbekistan, modern life and tourist attractions of the country. R.Ilze praised the efforts of the Government of Uzbekistan to the full support of the older generation.
- Announcement of 2015 in Uzbekistan the \"Year of attention and care for the senior generation\" has great practical value, - he noted. - These initiatives contribute to the consolidation of efforts in the community to address the specific and the most important social problems. Members of the older generation are making an invaluable contribution to the education of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and respect for the historical and cultural heritage of the people. In this context, in Uzbekistan attention exerted to the senior generation could become an example for many countries.
