The Holding Company Uzvinsanoat plans to implement 80 different investment projects for UZS135b until 2015.
Most often, when speaking of quality wines, traditional leaders are meant - companies from France, Italy, which for many centuries have been producing products well known throughout the world. However, there is a chance in this market and other equally ambitious players, which include actively developing by company Uzvinpromholding.
A unique medicinal properties and flavor of Uzbek grapes have been known since the Middle Ages far beyond Central Asia. Today, they are actively exported to the CIS countries, the Middle East, South Korea, Japan and other countries in Southeast Asia. Therefore, the country is actively developing its capacity for processing, production of wine and other products that are competitive on world markets.
To note, the Uzvinpromholding aims at diversifying its activities. The holding’s enterprises plan to carry out over 30 investment projects in the next few years. And, most interestingly, some of them are focused on related industries - processing of fruits and vegetables, production of fruit and vegetable concentrates and natural juices, canned foods, bakery products, mineral water. And the other is accentuated on the production of capping materials, corrugated cardboard production and processing of plastic packaging.
“By 2015, we plan to implement more than 80 projects,” head of Division of Foreign Economic and Integrated Management of Investment Projects at the Uzvinpromholding Adolat Vostrikova shared her views with Uzbekistan Today. “As a result, it will allow us to reduce our dependence on imports for many types of goods. Through these processes, Uzbekistan plans to become a member of the International Organization of Viticulture and Winemaking, which will allow expanding into new markets.”
In general, we note that in the country, from 2006 to 2012, the holding’s companies have implemented more than 100 projects for construction, reconstruction and modernization for UZS155b worth, allowing to equip a number of enterprises with modern technological equipment.
