A Present for Young Spectators: New interpretation of Aksakov’s fairytale
All-favored tale “The Scarlet Flower”, revived in the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan in new interpretation, has been welcomed by the young drama art fans with great enthusiasm. In the days of the New Year celebrations this bright and colorific play enjoy huge popularity among children and grown-ups, gathering impressive number of spectators.
The tale about the magic, wonder-working ‘Scarlet Flower’, written by Sergei Aksakov, went popular across the world due to the interesting turns of events and distinctive creative decorations. Its plot still enjoys popularity in many countries, which could be illustrated by the foreign animation “Beauty and the Beast”, based on this work.
The writer managed to carry a bright lyricism of the ever-young legend about selfless love, the idea on ideals of nobility, devotion and humanity. That is why the story on the ever-blooming ‘Scarlet Flower’ in many aspects similar to legends of various peoples of the world about the saving power of love, faithfulness, and selflessness. It is not by chance, the director of the play, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Georgiy Mustafin chose just this product as a gift for children to the New Year holidays, as on the stage of the Youth theater of Uzbekistan, the play was presented in quite unconventional and bright appearance, evoking great interest of spectators due to creative ideas of the play writers and inimitable play of actors.
“We were tasked to stage a bright and magical play, which could amaze the children. The old and kind tale “The Scarlet Flower” came very opportunely,” tells the actor and director of the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan Obid Abdurahmonov. “A special effect is created by means of new lighting engineering that helps the audience to believe in the wonders, occurring on the stage.”
Intricate decorations, colorific costumes of characters, made by costume designer Vassa Vasilieva, as well as tuneful supporting music, created by the composer Albert Kholmurzaev, were resulted with a great success among fans of the Youth Theater. The play involved such renowned drama art actors as Leyla Seyd-Ogly, Hasan and Husan Salihovs, Kamilla and Obid Abrurahmonovs and others.
“It was particularly exciting to be involved in the play with my brother, as we for the first time got the age-specific role, which is quite responsible as well,” says the actor at the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan Hasan Salihov. “However, the play is meant for children, and young spectators are very exacting. If actors play insincerely, they would not empathize and believe, while for the younger audience – it is very important. That is why, we try herd at rehearsals, during which much interesting happened. Moreover, the director Georgiy Mustafin and Obid Abdurahmonov contrived my jokes that made the play more versatile, wherefore the rehearsals passed in high spirits.”
Thus, the new play not only rejoices the children, but fosters them also due to the educative plot. And, the main thing is that the play makes people to believe in miracles. (Source: Uzbekistan Today newspaper)
