Keeping up with IT: STC introduces new technologies
Uzbekistan creates a single integrated information resource base of the tax authorities.
President of Uzbekistan adopted a Resolution \"On Measures to Further Improve the Efficiency of Information and Communication System of the State Tax Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
This document is adopted to improve accounting and control of taxes and other obligatory payments to identify additional sources of tax revenue and to prevent tax evasion, as well as the expansion and improvement of the quality of online services to taxpayers.
In particular, the document provides for the formation of a single integrated information resource base of the tax authorities.
In the first phase, until 1 January 2013 an integration of the informational base of all regional state tax inspections into a central one will be held. In the second stage, until 1 January 2015, there will be an integration of the informational base of ministries and agencies on onset and termination of obligations of taxpayers into a unified data base of the State Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
To note, in recent years, Uzbekistan has established a complete legal framework for the successful development of information and communication technologies and their implementation in all spheres of life and activity of the society. The State Tax Committee takes an active participation in these processes. Since the establishment of a state tax service, information and communications technology were widely adopted in its work. As a result, while improving tax staff efficiency, a particular attention is paid on the creation of favorable conditions for taxpayers to save their time and material resources in performance of their tax liabilities.
So, in order to create conditions for the population’s active participation in improvement of tax administration by improving the level of information exchange and dissemination, enhancing the openness and transparency of the state tax service, the State Tax Committee was established on its official website of provision of sixteen types of public online services, as well as to provide other useful information on all relevant areas for businesses and individuals.
