Mubarek Gas Processing Plant continues upgrading facilities One of the largest gas processing plants in the region, Mubarek Gas Processing Plant, last year processed about 27.65 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Production of liquefied natural gas reached 15 thousand tons instead of the planned 8.5 thousand tons. It also produced 298.4 thousand tons of stabilized gas condensate and 347.8 thousand tons of sulfur. Gas processing plant has developed a special program for modernization and technical re-equipment. In particular, the plant is building the seventh desulfurization line within three generic units with total capacity of 6 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The first one was launched in August last year. Absorber installation in the new unit is equipped with modern contact attachment Peton that saves electricity and heat, absorbent, and the output of quality products increased by 20%. Design and construction documents prepared by UzLITIneftegaz, construction carried out by local contractors, most of the technological equipment manufactured at Uzbekhimmash. The new unit is capable of processing up to 300 thousand cubic meters of natural gas per hour. The processing plant is also building a propane-butane mixture installation for saturating the domestic market with hydrocarbon. Production capacity of the unit is up to 258 thousand tons of liquefied gas and up to 125 thousand tons of gas condensate per year. After its launch the production capacity will increase more than 17 times. The main technological equipment compressor station, gas drying unit and propane-butane mixer is supplied from Ukraine. Under the contract, installation and commissioning will be done by Ukrainian partners. The new facility will be launched already this year. Experts at the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant say in the future at will become a gas-chemical complex with annual production capacity of 500 thousand tons of polyethylene. In 2005 the plant commissioned a propane refrigeration complex for processing 13.6 billion cubic meters per year. The factory sells purified and dried natural gas being delivered through a gas pipeline for industrial and domestic needs, and liquid lump sulfur, stabilized gas condensate and liquefied petroleum gas.
